EDWARD GEORGE

Edward is a visual and sound artist, writer, director and producer.  He co-founded the multi-media arts group Flow Motion with Anna Piva in 1996 and their sound art performances have taken place at the Lilian Baylis Theatre, and the Science Museum Dana Centre in London as well as other international destinations.  Edward was Artistic Associate for the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in 2010 and is currently working on a collaborative on-line archival project exploring the theme of the Promised Land.
My first initial response to his work makes me want to wonder why he had created this piece and also the true meaning and intentions he was trying to illustrate through this piece.
i particularly like the use of tertiary colours as they seem 'greeny' it symbolises a natural settlement and also use to just keep focus on the image and not bee put of by any bright colours. i also like the nature aspect of the piece.
whilst working with the artist i began to understand that there is more to art than just a pretty picture, i quickly learnt that in modern day art that meaning that the artist tries to convey is what's most significant even though if the are subverting your convetional art piece, as what edward george has done here.
i also soon understood about archives and how important different archives can mean to people and that anything from your past can be an archive.
